Designated as the National Research Institute for Education Finance, KERI has, since 2021, been conducting a wide range of studies on issues and challenges in education finance — spanning early childhood, primary, secondary, higher, and lifelong education — under the theme “Expanding and Rationally Managing Education Finance for the Future.” These efforts aim to inform policy and improve relevant systems.

REGIONAL EDUCATION COOPERATION CENTER

The Department of Regional Education Cooperation at KERI was established in March 2020 as the first master’s and doctoral program in a general graduate school in Korea, with the aim of addressing issues such as educational disparities and regional decline through educational approaches.
In recent years, the demand from local communities and schools for professionals in regional education cooperation projects has continued to grow, highlighting the need to cultivate creative talent capable of leading regional transformation through regional collaboration and educational innovation.

The Future Education Center, supported by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, helps teachers, students, and researchers acquire the skills and tools needed to lead future education.
As a hub of educational innovation in Gangwon State, the Center connects technology and learning to cultivate future-ready teachers and learners, carrying out research and practice focused on teacher training, digital learning, self-directed learning, and remote education.
