MISSION
The Institute of Education at Kangwon National University was established to contribute to the qualitative advancement of education by conducting theoretical and practical research on educational phenomena and by feeding these research outcomes back into the field.
The Institute pursues comprehensive research that ranges from fundamental theories to curriculum, subject matter education, and field practices, with a central mission of providing directions for national education policy. To fulfill this mission, the Institute carries out systematic research and practice through its three specialized research centers:
▶ Education Finance Center – Designated by the Ministry of Education in 2021 as Korea’s key research institute for education finance, this center oversees research and policy support related to local, higher, and lifelong education financing.
▶ Regional Education Cooperation Center – This center contributes to sustainable regional development by sharing the university’s knowledge and resources with local communities. It also operates the interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Regional Education Cooperation.
▶ Future Education Center – Leading the era of AI and digital transformation, this center is dedicated to building the foundation for future education and cultivating talents equipped for the demands of a new era.
